The Toolbelt is an unlockable function which allows the player to hotkey items. Each tool-belt level unlocks more hotkey slots as well as the next level tool-belt.
To hotkey an item, wield the item in your hands, and then hold down the hotkey you wish to bind it to, until you hear the activation sound. For example, one can wield an axe, and then hold down 1 until it is bound to hotkey 1. In order to remove the item from the hotkey slot, simply repeat the process with an already hotkeyed item.
To activate a hotkey, simply press the number for the tool you wish to use. Keyboard uses number keys 0-9 for hotkeys, while the controller uses the D-Pad for the first 4 slots.

- Upon quitting, the hotkeys will be removed, unless the hotkeyed item is held in hand at the time of saving. This means that at most one item will regain its hotkey upon loading, so the player will have to re-assign the hotkeys every time they load their save.
