Rocks are a resource item found in Stranded Deep. Being a basic resource, rocks are considered a crucial material for many crafting and building recipes.
Obtaining[]
Loose rocks can be found scattered around islands. They can also be found by mining rock nodes.
Like some other resources and items, such as palm trees and sticks, the number of available rocks on an island is limited, meaning the player can completely exhaust their supply if they craft too many items; at this point, the player will then need to traverse neighboring islands to find additional resources.
Usage[]
Currently, only these items and structures can be crafted out of rocks:
Items:
- Crude hammer (x2)
- Stone tool (x1)
Structures:
- Bird snare (x1)
- Fire pit (x3)
- Fish trap (x2)
- Raft anchor (x6)
- Water still (x3)
Rocks can be picked up and stored up to 4 per slot. Their pile holds 50 rocks.

Trivia[]
- Despite the number of large rock formations found on islands, the player is incapable of mining resources from them, and are considered solely aesthetic in nature (with the exception of Rock (Node)).
- Originally, the only way to get Stone Tools was to use the game's drag mechanics to smash the rocks against a piece of static environment. This has since been removed and replaced by the Crafting menu option.
