Humpback Whales are aquatic animals in Stranded Deep. They are randomly found in the ocean.
Description[]
Humpback whales are huge mammals that can be encountered swimming peacefully in the open sea. They tend to stick to the surface, and at times can be seen diving deeper. Their size can be seen as intimidating, but they are completely harmless to the player. They cannot be interacted with in any way other than touching or standing on them. Keep in mind the whales can also interact with and move your raft.
These whales sometimes do slow flips while swimming, both on the surface and in depths. They can also quite commonly be seen spouting water.
Humpback whales cannot be killed. However, throwing weapons such as spears will cause the whale to cry, and swim away from the player. No amount of spears or arrows can kill it though.

- Humpback whales were introduced in the v0.01.H1 game update.
- As of v0.03.H2, the spawn chance of a humpback whale has been adjusted from 20% down to 6%.
