Blacktip reef sharks are non-interactable aquatic animals in Stranded Deep. They are mostly found swimming around near shallow waters. In the console versions of Stranded Deep, they are aggressive, unlike the PC version.
PC description[]
Blacktip reef sharks are small sharks that swim around carelessly in mid-shallow waters. While they aren't interactable, they still act as an existing object and the player can bump into them.
Blacktip reef sharks cannot be killed.
Console description[]
Console variants of blacktip reef sharks are interactable and even aggressive, but still appear in the same areas as the PC variant (near shallow waters). The aggressive version is larger and darker in color and swims much faster.
Blacktip reef sharks can be killed and skinned using a refined knife. They yield 3 Large Meat and around 3 rawhide.
They more or less replace the tiger sharks that would have been found in shallow waters. They have less heath than a tiger shark and do less damage so they are more of a annoyance than a big threat. The easiest way to defeat them is to get on a raft and throw crude spears at them as they circle the raft.
